Who can become a member of NAIU

A participant of the Association can be an insurer that carries out its activities in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and agrees to comply with the rules of participation in the Association.

NAIU members have the right

  • participate in the General Assembly
  • to include positions on the agenda of the Association’s General Meeting
  • receive reports and information about the Association’s activities
  • use the Association’s services
  • to receive assistance from the Association in solving issues stipulated by the statutory activity
  • use the Association’s logo
  • for legal assistance and advisory support when considering issues related to the common legal interests of the Association’s members
  • participate in Association events

NAIU participants are obliged

  • comply with the requirements of the provisions of the Association Charter, decisions of the General Meeting and internal documents of the Association, take into account their recommendations
  • to participate in the implementation of the Association’s statutory tasks
  • fulfill their obligations to the Association
  • not to disclose commercial and confidential information about the Association’s activities
  • refrain from actions that undermine confidence in the insurance market
  • to take care of the good name and reputation of the Association
  • to adhere to the principles of conduct, standards, rules and proper activity practices adopted by the Association both in relation to other members of the Association and to third parties

Procedure for acquiring membership

The association is free for entry/exit of new members.
To acquire membership in the Association, it is necessary to submit an application for joining the Association with the attachment of documents established by the Regulations on Membership in the Association. The application must contain the consent of the insurer to fulfill the requirements of the Charter, as well as other rules contained in the internal documents of the Association.
The decision to acquire membership in the Association is within the competence of the Presidium of the Association.

  1. properly certified copy of the document confirming the applicant’s state registration (an extract and/or certificate of registration of a legal entity, an excerpt from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Organizations, with a date of issue not later than one month from the date of application submission);
  2. properly certified copies of the applicant’s founding documents (Statute of the legal entity, Founding Agreement, Taxpayer Certificate, Certificate of State Registration of Financial Institutions, etc.);
  3. properly certified copy of the document confirming the authority of the person signing the application (protocol, power of attorney, etc.);
  4. files of regulatory reporting for the year in which the application is submitted and for the three previous years, compiled in accordance with legislative requirements, submitted and accepted by the National Bank of Ukraine (separately for each reporting period);
  5. properly certified copy of the decision (protocol) of the applicant’s authorized governing body regarding joining the Association and/or other documents specified in the applicant’s founding documents, along with documents confirming the authority and competence of the members of the authorized governing body;
  6. properly executed documents confirming the insurer’s compliance with the legislation regarding the insurer’s solvency, information that the National Bank of Ukraine has not made a decision (and has not identified circumstances) regarding the recognition of the ownership structure as opaque or the refusal to recognize the ownership structure as transparent, the acknowledgment of the insurer’s business reputation, the reputation of significant shareholders, management, chief accountant, and key persons of the insurer as unimpeachable, and the absence of information about the registration address and/or location of related parties of the insurer in a state that is conducting/has conducted armed aggression against Ukraine, as defined in Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Defense of Ukraine.”
